Terms and conditions
These Terms govern the use of Funeral Office’s AI-powered CCTV platform. By using the service, you agree to comply with applicable laws and these conditions.
Summary
Funeral Office provides AI-based video analytics and monitoring tools on an “as-is” basis. You are responsible for how you deploy cameras, configure the platform, and ensure compliance with all applicable surveillance and data protection laws.
Use of service
You must only use the service for lawful purposes, including compliance with GDPR and applicable CCTV and surveillance regulations.
User responsibilities
You are responsible for camera deployments, obtaining necessary consents or signage, and ensuring that any personal data processed has a valid legal basis.
Data protection
Where Funeral Office processes personal data on your behalf, such processing is governed by our Data Processing Agreement (DPA). You act as the Data Controller and Funeral Office acts as the Data Processor.
Free trial access
Where Funeral Office grants you access to a free trial, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the platform solely for internal evaluation purposes during the trial period. This right does not include the right to sublicense or share access with third parties. The trial begins upon registration and continues until terminated by either party or converted to a paid subscription. Funeral Office reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the trial at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.
Confidentiality
During and after any trial or use of the service, you agree to keep confidential all non-public information about the Funeral Office platform, including but not limited to: software, algorithms, AI models, system architecture, product roadmap, pricing, APIs, and any other technical or business information disclosed to you. You must not disclose such information to any third party without prior written consent from Funeral Office, and you must use at least the same degree of care you use to protect your own confidential information, but no less than reasonable care.
No competing products
You must not use the Funeral Office platform, any non-public information about it, or any insights gained through your access to develop, assist in developing, or contribute to any product or service that competes with Funeral Office, including AI-powered video analytics, CCTV intelligence, or similar surveillance or security platforms.
No reverse engineering
You must not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, underlying models, or algorithms of the Funeral Office platform. You must not scrape, extract, or systematically collect data from the platform for any purpose other than legitimate use of the service.
Trial use restrictions
A trial is for evaluation purposes only. You must not use the platform to process or store live personal data in a production environment, resell or redistribute access to the platform, or integrate the platform into a commercial product or service during the trial period without a paid agreement in place. Any data you upload or generate during a trial may be deleted upon termination of the trial period, and Funeral Office may use anonymised, aggregated, or de-identified data from trial usage to improve the platform.
Intellectual property
Nothing in these terms grants you any ownership or intellectual property rights in the Funeral Office platform. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Funeral Office.
AI limitations
AI detections and alerts are probabilistic and may not always be accurate. The platform should not be relied upon as the sole basis for safety, legal, or enforcement decisions.
Availability
We aim to provide reliable access but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may be modified or discontinued at any time.
Changes to the service and pricing
Funeral Office reserves the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to modify, suspend, limit, or withdraw the service, or any feature or part of it, whether temporarily or permanently and with or without notice. This right applies even where the service, or any part of it, is currently provided to you free of charge. No current or previous provision of the service without charge creates any obligation on Funeral Office to continue to provide it, whether free of charge or at all.
Funeral Office also reserves the right to introduce charges for any part of the service, and to set, change, or increase its prices, fees, and charges at any time. Where you are on a paid plan, any change to pricing will take effect from your next billing period or renewal, and your continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Funeral Office will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, withdrawal, or discontinuation of the service, or for any introduction of or change to pricing.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Funeral Office, together with its owners, directors, employees, agents, and suppliers, shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any loss or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with the service or these terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise. This includes, without limitation, any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, and any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings, even if Funeral Office has been advised of the possibility of such loss.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, the total aggregate liability of Funeral Officearising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid to Funeral Office for the service in the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100. Where the service is provided to you free of charge, Funeral Office accepts no liability to you to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated or the service is used unlawfully.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
